Yes his story turned out to be true. Yes it needed to be reported. But there is legitimate reporting in then there is helping to create the story - he clearly crossed the line - doesn't exonerate anyone involved but it does discredit him. Yeah, but Leavitt had made a game of ******** on McMurphy for over two years leading up to the story. Had Leavitt not treated McMurphy so bad this story would have come and gone. You obviously have forgotten the history there and why Leavitt treated him that way. There is a long history, but I remember it starting with the privacy violation. McMurphy did violate school privacy rules to expose team rules violations. He outed players that were receiving discipline. Leavitt, following school policy, would not name violations publicly. McMurphy utilized his player connections to get the violations and published. You may want to think back to the days of McMurphy trying to derail the program long before Miller's slap stories. Remember the n-word story? Remember the NCAA major violation story that was untrue and unfounded? There's a trove of these out there. He was hack, still is a hack.

It's personal to him. To not see that would be willful blindness.

Where Leavitt and his AD Woolard failed was by allowing it to fester for so long. “Never argue with a man who buys ink by the barrel†

We are having a bad couple of years like almost all programs go through.
