I thought he was at UCLA. People forget Woulard was likely coming here if Holtz stayed. Easier to just blame everything on one person. Didn't see one comment about how LATech won its cupcake game. How can that be? He's such a bad coach. What's going to be interesting is that the cupcake that LATech played, that won its first game of the season 75-0, plays McNeese last game of the season. Wonder which cupcake wins? What if LATech's cupcake beats McNeese? What does that mean? Probably nothing, but kinda interesting none the less. it means he took over a program that went 8-4 last year with 2 OT losses, another 1 point loss and a 2 point loss. they alos beat ole miss and lost to mighty TCU by 7. their coach was hired away to a better program because he was successful. Unfortunately our coach took over a 3-9 team that had losses to ball state and temple with an NFL QB who is now gone. BTW beating lamar by 7 isn't exactly impressive. Dude, the entire coaching staff is gone and they returned only 7 starters (3 off/4 def) and lost 31 lettermen. That's the fewest returning starters and the most lettermen lost in CUSA. That team from last year is gone. So it means basically he built what he fielded from scratch. The difference in talent between LATech and USF is vast and wide, USF has returning: WR Andre Davis; RB Marcus Shaw; and OLs Quinterrius Eatmon, Austin Reiter and Darrell Williams DLs Ryne Giddons, Aaron Lynch, Tevin Mims and Luke Sager; LBs Reshard Cliet and DeDe Lattimore; and SS JaQuez Jenkins and Mark Joyce. You can't say Skip fell into a great team to explain why they won against their cupcake week 2. That isn't very deep.

Lousiana Tech returns one starter from that offense. Skip needed to go, we've moved on. He has two of this programs best wins ever. Lets just leave it at that. He failed miserably.11 one score losses in 3 seasons. I'd say his DCs failed him miserably. Should have coached at UCiF. Close counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Using your measure of sucess, he never competed for a conference championship. He left his mark on the program and one day we'll dig out of it. Why you feel it necesaary to defend a guy fired because of his performance is odd. I guess because he was a nice guy with a big goofy smile. But carry on if you must. I guess Woolard was wrong here too then, eh?
