These schools want to pass such legislation without the hassle of 340-plus schools in Division I voting on Football Bowl Subdivision matters. Depending on how much those conferences want to up the ante, this could cost schools millions in additional dollars -- dollars the American is apparently willing to pay, despite an inferior television deal. Cincinnati athletic director Whit Babcock told CBSSports.com the league's athletic directors and coaches met with the conference on Monday and member schools are prepared to do whatever is necessary.

We don't know what we don't know. For all we know, USF has already talked to the B12 and hashed out the reasons why we aren't in yet. I know I read in a CBS article that USF confirmed it's talked to the ACC before. 

 

Now, with the situation we're in, Mike Aresco has been very vocal in demanding consideration for inclusion in the pee 5. And good. I've been saying for years the Big East's weakness (1 of them) was being too passive.
