Hope he's right, too, but to not even sign in in over a month ....Whatever comps are, are they like Lent where you have to abstain from something for a period of time?

So the nancies were all hand wringing about not having a QB.

1) Great kid coming in from 2013 Recruitng class (White?)

2) Solid Transfer, PSQB competitive kid from PSU, available immed.  (Bench)

3) Best Bay Area PSQB prospect this season.  ?

4) Kind of a murky in and out from a game changing DTQB (Woulard)

5) and one of the best DTQB/ATH's  in the Bay Area.  ?

Are we ok now? Effing stellar Coach T. Way to go.

I am not sure who he was talking about in each case but the answer to his question turned out to be "no we are not ok now."

You know, it's so funny.   Looking back on this thread, look how many posts there were about this guy.   People spend all this time fretting about recruiting... OMG, we are missing on all the good HS players, coach can't recruit, what are we gonna do, team's going to hell, etc, etc, etc.

But you have to trust the coaches.   Sometimes they meet on a kid on his official visit, and say, "Uh oh, this one's gonna be trouble" and so they quit calling/texting/emailing him, and let him be some other coaches headache.    He doesn't go on twitter and say "Folks, we aren't recruiting Porter any more because he's an armed robber disguised as a football player" but I'll bet there are times he'd like to.

So trust the coaches, they are getting paid millions of dollars to sort out the good from the bad.   Better to have a bunch of one stars that are coachable, than a bunch of primadonna five stars who are just counting the downs until they can bolt for the NFL.

Recruting is important, but it's not EVERYTHING.

Apparently UF is not doing a very good job of that.

Also, he left us, it's not like we chose to walk away from this guy, so the idea that this shows that the coaching staff is right to 'not go after' certain players is just wrong.

Although probably right, looking back, people seemed a little up in arms about a comment by DP interpreted as CWT not having his back .... Maybe there was more going on behind the scenes we weren't privy to.

True - there's no telling what actually happened. Either way, we definitely got the better end of the QB recruiting deal (for once).
