I'm all for starting a lax team but we would get stomped by everyone... Do we really need anymore punishment right now ?

Our club team beat UF this year. Assume makes an Ass out of U and Me

This is like saying the intramural basketball team at usf beat UFs.

Wish I had a cool demeaning line to say but you already made a fool of yourself.

Trying to make a point from a team winning in a pickup game of lacrosse...el oh el

Club level is not NCAA.

Fun sport to watch and constant action.  Getting a lot more popular in the high school ranks in Florida.  Very popular northern sport.

This is why I would think this would be a good candidate for an expansion sport, there is a growing community and only one men's and women's team in the state.

I think it would be a great addition.  I wouldn't go as far as saying that it would benefit us in getting into another conference (someone above alluded to this).

I mentioned that it would make us a little more appealing to the ACC since they are big on lacrosse. I wouldn't go so far as to say that it would get us into or being the deciding factor, but it would be a nice little addition to the resume and it wouldn't hurt.

There's also a reason it's an official high school sport in Florida. 138 boy's teams and 114 girl's teams.

In the NCAA, there are currently 63 men's teams (the nearest is Jacksonville University followed by Duke), and 100 women's (Florida, Jacksonville, and Stetson all being in-state).

It's a growing sport in Florida.

Water polo is also an official high school sport in Florida, but there are no varsity college water polo teams in Florida.

Just because kids play it in high school, doesn't mean a college should throw down millions to create a team.

Girls Flag Football is an official high school sport as well.

This boggles my mind - it's Florida, any sport that involves water should be big at every major university, just like hockey is big with most northern schools.

:P

You're right that that shouldn't be the reason, but your insinuation that it's not popular in Florida as reason not to start a team is false.
