Looks like the AAC not only has lost it's BCS access but also ALL of it's top bowls to include the Russell, Belk, and Pinstripe, as reported by McMurphy and Co.  No replacement bowls in sight.  So, basically the AAC lost it's top 4 bowls with ZERO replacements in sight.  What exactly is Aresco doing to rectify this.  Apparently nothing.  Looks like all of the AAC top bowls with be against CDOA and Sun Belt opponents.

DW get USF out of this craptacular conference ASAP.

Where does it say that Aresco is doing nothing to rectify the bowl situation.  The bowl situation is changing and surely will not be as strong as it was before, but this article is about the ACC.  Has nothing to do at all with the AAC bowl situation.  Not one word at all about Aresco.  In fact, the article mentions that the new bowl lineup will be "a huge blow to the ACC".

Unfortunately, like everything else, the AAC is going to have to wait until the rest of the bowl situation begins to settle and then we get ours.

Like everything else, for the time being the best way to get into a good bowl is win the league with the highest ranking possible and get the BCS bid available.  otherwise, any other crap bowl is as good as the Pinstripe Bowl in my opinion.

Aresco said on a radio interview he was working on Russell and Pinstripe.  Apparently he was wrong.  All signs point to those bowls going to other conferences.  Russell to ACC vs. B12, and Pinstripe to ACC vs B10 according to ESPN.  Those may not have been the greatest bowls, but at least they were against power conferences.  Now we have....nothing.  No BCS and no top bowls agains power conferences.  The sooner you understand this, the better.

Um.... What exactly did you expect Aresco to do? The guy is in a gun fight with an empty magazine and his hand tied behind his back. There is no leverage other than to beg.

It was clear that a major bowl downgrade had to happen. If we get "A" set of bowls while having WVU, Louisville, Rutgers, Cuse, and Pitt ... then we replace those schools with Tulane, ECU, Tulsa, UCF, Houston, SMU, Memphis then it only stands to reason that the future set of bowls, lets call "B" ... will be substantially less appealing than the first set.

I hope we can pick up the New Orleans Bowl, maybe a game in Texas.

Here is what we need out of the new set of bowl games - 1 decent game, to showcase our champion in years that they don't go to the big time bowls. Russell would have fit that bill, Charlotte or Liberty will have to do.

A growth in total number of bowl games - we are going from 8 football members to 12, so our football membership is growing by 50%, so our overall number of bowl slots should grow by 50%.

The AAC said last week that they are creating their own game. I kind of figured that we weren't looking to good in that department when that was released.

Obviously we have no control over it as fans, but I would love to see see a bowl tie in with the highest rated team from the other non power conferences with the winner going to the BCS playoff game or whatever they call it.

To me, once you get past the BCS bowl tie in, the Liberty is just as good as the Belk. Maybe better. The rest of the bowl tiebins? Eh, just another game. No better, no worse than what we have now.
