That's a complete fantasy. If that would be the case at a state school then it should start with the Governor. The reality is this situation is going to be a tremendous drag on the entire athletic department. The only saving grace, and may be a part of why the BE presidents would vote for such a deal, may be the disbursement of the departure fees from the schools that are leaving. Perhaps UC, UCONN and USF feel those fees can help be the bridge, financially, for a few years until we/they get picked up in the next round of expansion. Other than that, this situation is going I to be big drag on the department's ability to operate. I don't see how it can't be.

Seems they shouldn't, since they've already announced they're leaving? What about them maybe voting yo disband the BE? Seems they shouldn't be able to do that either... We get a piece of all the exit fees, and BOY OH BOY there have been a LOT of those. We also will get a piece when Aresco sells the Big East name to the C7 for buku dollars. Exit fees should keep things reasonable until we get a life raft or realize that we are generations away from being with the big boys.

Can you say bye-bye Golf, Tennis, and Cross-country? Not after that 1 million-dollar donation by a golfer's parents.

Since the first year of the contract affects the C7 (it covers basketball payments for 2013-2014 and the C7 are currently scheduled to be in the Big East for that year) they get to vote on the contract. Don't look now, but I predict we'll get screwed out of the exit fees as well.
