No chance in hell Ray Jay becomes a neutral stadium.

Or the yellow seats at Heinz field turning blue when Pitt plays. And saying that Heinz field is 5 miles from Pitt. Ray Jay is just over double that from USF. Don't make it sound like its in the next county.

Come on man, Yellow is just little closer to gold than red is.

At least from this angle, Heinz field shows more of its NFL side than Ray Jay.

****, I must not be seeing the eye patch on the publix sign, or the bucs flag on the near and far scoreboards. I must also be missing where Steelers symbol at Heinz Field. I'll be darned.

+1

that is why Pitt can get away with the "yellow" seats.. because they look gold-ish.  also, they don't have a Huge Pirate Ship in their endzone, as well as concourses that are unopposed with NFL themes.

I agree we wont see an OCS anytime soon, but my only hope is that RJS becomes more neutral.  I think it is a realistic possibility, considering the plethora of events and bowl games that RJS hosts, it would behoove of them to go towards a more digital signage throughout the stadium that can be changed depending on what event is going on (Bucs = red, Bulls = green, Super Bowl theme, Outback Bowl theme, monster truck rally theme).  HOwever, this would also include blowing up that pirate ship and many bucs fans who are non-Bulls fans may not like that

we might be strapped for cash at this point, but i think we can gather up enough $$$ to "lobby" enough leverage to get this done.

Or we could just change our colors to black and red...

Sorted.

You can't bring up an argument of gold being close to yellow, on this board, with all the back and forth on the correctness of the color of the gold USF helmets that go into the most minute detail, lol. But Ray Jay is due for an update in the next few years. Depending on the stability of the program, they should have input into changes that could be used for USF home games. They should look at the new NY stadium for ideas. And not having a museum? For a program for that's less than 20 years old? Vs a program that is over 100 years old with national championships and produced NFL legends? Maybe in 50 years.

There has to be some way to blame an ethnic minority here

Say what you like about DW, but I cannot imagine being in his position today.  Less than a decade ago he oversees his athletic program's move into the big leagues.  The media money immediately grows substantially, but with an almost certain leap into the $15-$17M per year range.  Plans are made, facilities are built on leverage, salaries are boosted.  And now his reality is that he will be working with less money than he could have possibly dreamt in his worst nightmare.

What realistic moves can he make?

Here's what is likely to happen: There will be layoffs in the AD, salaries will be cut, student fees will rise, and ticket prices for football will go up.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
