If you attended Houston, SMU,  Tulsa, ECU, Tulane, etc...

Is it common for students to walk around campus wearing gear from their favorite in-state big-boy school?

Houston,SMU -> UT, aTm

ECU-> UNC NCstate

Tulane ->LSU

Tulsa -> OU

Memphis - > UT

Is this normal?

When I was on campus at USF, we didn't have football yet, and it was very common for people to wear gear from their favorite in-state big boy team like UF and FSU.  Is it still the case now?  Now that it looks like we are headed back to small-time football, could this be the case again?

My opinion is that it sucks.  If you want to wear that gear, keep it off my campus or f-ing transfer.

I can't speak for other schools. I know this was still the case when I went to USF (2004-2008). Plenty of Gator, Cane, and Nole gear, even during our best years. Haven't been on campus much for the last four years, but I'd imagine this is till the case somewhat.

My only experience (didn't go though) is that ECU fans are serious about their program.

Dude, I've been on the UF campus, and FSU campus... saw lots of random school gear there. Penn State, Tulane, a&m, FSU gear at UF and vice versa.

Happens at every college.

I spent three semesters at Cincy doing grad work in the late 80's, and honestly, I don't remember the breakdown on-campus. In-town, it was probably about 90-10 Ohio State, with a smattering of Dayton and X for good measure.

To add insult to injury, Moeller high school football was probably more popular than Bearcat football

Depending on when you went, Moeller may have had a better team.

Like I said, late 80's. And they probably would have beaten UC back then, LOL.

  I am sure that I wore an "X" t-shirt to class at USF back in the 80's

That's a great point. I transfered to UF for my junior year to be with my gf at the time and I saw a lot of different school gear there, it happens at all schools. When I came back to USF for my senior year though, there were a lot more students wearing FSU and UF gear compared to Gville. If you're not the fixed state school, you're going to have more of a mix like we do.

Went to ECU, Yes people wear other schools clothes to school. I did as well. You cant help but root for the team you grew up cheering for or follow.

Now I wouldnt wear that gear to a game though, I wear the gear of the  team Im supporting.

Do we really want a Dress code ? During regular hours , classes ect..... Its not a problem.I only see a problem if they wear them to the games.

  BTW  USF fan and season ticket holder in FB and BB and have been for a while.  Will be rooting for the Green and Gold over ECU as well. (When in Rome do as the Romans).
