lol at people ITT saying we should force our way into a conference. wtf do you think this is? This conference stuff is done by INVITATION. No conferences needs us, so why would they pick us up?

Why didn't Doug tell the ACC and Big 12 he wanted in? That's all you need to do to switch conferences, right?

Then you bash your way in. Say anything, do anything, and promise anything to get in. It can be done and they failed. Promise to take no conf revenues for 10 years if that's what it took.

So going bankrupt and not having an athletic department is more desirable than having an athletic department, but with a football team in a lesser conference? Interesting bit of priorities there.

At this point, independence may be USFs best option unless USF is actually doing something about this mess.

Oh, I see. In the future, you could just state up front that you don't know anything about college sports, and save everyone the trouble of reading your drivel.

He lives in Texas. That explains everything. :roflmao:

Do people really think that Doug and Judy... Behind the scenes haven't done anything?

Would you prefer they look like fools (cinci, beg and shot down)?

I'm not defending them but I think it's ridiculous to suggest they aren't trying. We don't know the truth.

And how committed USF is.

Their number one priority over last year should have been to get USF out of BE.

How do you know it wasn't? Were you expecting personalized emails detailing who they've met with and what was discussed?

THEY FAILED AND USF IS PERMANENTLY BANNED TO THE MINOR LEAGUES.

Permanently? Really? Maybe if you had lent your crystal ball to the powers that be five years ago things would have worked out differently.

What would happen to you on your job if you failed so miserably.

Judy Genshaft's job involves far, far more than just concerning herself with USF's athletic conference alignment, so to say she has "failed so miserably" on this basis alone is pretty dumb.

I don't know what's more colossally stupid: Assuming that Genshaft and Woolard were sitting back content with being in the Big East as the conference basically fell apart from within, or assuming that because we aren't hearing public statements detailing exactly who the administrators are talking to and exactly what they're talking to them about. Not that either of those examples of stupidity are new to this message board, of course. What was the point of this thread again? Did you have some nonsense to say that hasn't been repeated ad nauseam?

USF wasn't invited to one of the bigger leagues because of a wide variety of factors, but chief among them is that USF just isn't as attractive an expansion candidate as most of the other Big East schools that have been snatched away. Deal with it.

Then you bash your way in. Say anything, do anything, and promise anything to get in. It can be done and they failed. Promise to take no conf revenues for 10 years if that's what it took.

You tend to use a lot of personal attacks on people. You may want to try to stay on point rather than saying someone is stupid, or that they have no knowledge of college football, or that their post is drivel. I'll bet $$ to donuts that you don't know as much as you think you know, and quite possibly a large amount less than most on this board. I'm sure that you'll say something demeaning about me. I franky don't care. Have great night/day.

A year ago, many members of this Board said don't worry, Judy and Doug are working hard, have connections, etc.

Now, we are 1 of 3 Big East members left behind. Judy and Doug have failed miserably and now we are stuck in pretty much Conference USA.

I really miss Lee Roy Selmon. He had so much influence and was the one with connections. USF would definitely be in a better situation if Lee Roy was still with us.

And guess what, both of those other schools have more to offer than we do. Both have won thehttp conference in football. Both have excellent basketball, UConn being a top tier program. Not to mention, both are ranked substantially higher than us academically. What exactly do you wish they'd have done to sell us to conferences? We can't ride market size forever.

I understand, they have accomplished a lot, and Cincinnati would offer a more 'new' market to somebody like the ACC or even SEC. UConn would certainly offer a very new market to the SEC or Big 10.

But, regarding the rebuttal of market size being important, i don't think anybody said it was just market size.

Being located in Florida-almost tied for being the third most populous state-with a big football culture and offering excellent recruits, USF would help a conference like the Big 12.

Adding a school in Florida-particularly Tampa-would entail great exposure for the Big 12.

The Big XII is doing just fine for quality recruits as it is now. I have no doubt the league, in an ideal scenario, wouldn't mind having a team in Florida, but unless you have a link from a conference official saying otherwise, I don't think it's important enough to justify taking in a league member that would add little if anything to the value of the conference's television contract and/or overall prestige. The league has managed just fine to produce quality football teams and players under the current alignment.

But he is correct about the stupidity of the OP.

Come on guys, personally attacking each other over such an issue is unnecessary.
