give up the RECRUITS WELL in florida..ITS ABOUT KIDS WANTING TO SHOWCASE THEIR ABILITY..THEY WANT TO GET STATS AND BE ON TV..we need a high powered spread offense..

MIKE LEACH should be #1 target IMO..

The rest are up and comers WHO KNOW HOW TO THROW TO WIN..

you guys just dont get it sometimes man. Your so traditional.

I think that's winning football though. The only argument I would believe is that we can't get the physical athletes that we need to compete using that technique. Those gimmicky offenses have been great for ESPN buzz, but then a Notre Dame or Stanford defense beats them with a non-buzzworthy offense.

I don't know. I think it's time USF stops trying to look for a big name to hire and instead tries to create one. By that I mean we should hire a young, unknown coach with a lot of passion.

We are in a rebuilding year anyways.

Man I would love that. Notice that when we started doing this, our offense moved the ball this year? On the other extreme, you get teams like Oregon that are all offense, generate buzz, but always lose to a real defense. I'll take defense and pound the rock, plz.

You can have both... Mark Richt is a defensive coach, yet, he has coached some very solid offenses. Brian Kelly actually was a defensive coordinator at one point, though he is more known for his offense, he's actually a defense guy. Stoops at Oklahoma.

Just because you have a defensive minded head coach, it doesn't mean that your offense has to be boring or inept.

We are a gimmick right now the worst thing we can do is become a boring pro style offense..WHICH HARDLY ANYONE RUNS IN FLORIDA....and fit our style of players or the offensive lineman we can get...

This may be true. I don't think those teams are boring though. Some people like hard hitting football rather than the basketball on grass.

College football is more about the Jimmies and Joes than the Xs and Os. So you need a coach that can recruit. Period.

Gruden (Jay) at least seems like a guy who can fire his team up and kick some ass when they are sleeping on the job.

I don't know, but we need to hire the guy RIGHT NOW. We need to keep Woulard and not let this class go to crap.

Having watched a lot of arena football and preferring an offensive mind I'd like Gruden. Brings a lot of swag, brother could help with recruiting, and would put butts in the seat. Plus he wants to be in central Florida.
