If it all goes down sooner, then vote to disband the conference at that time (which brings up another reason why a FB/BB hybrid ACC may be necessary - for some of the BBall votes to drown out the likes of PC and SHU who aren't going to go away quietly). I'd rather not "borrow" BoiseSt, SDSU, and all the rest for one season if the current members all have new homes pending. If we are stuck in the BE, it'll look quite different than even the latest divisional sketches, so I still say to hold tight for the next 6-12 months until we know who's staying behind. Surely, if the Scarlet Knights are bolting out the front door, there has to be some indigent team with it's nose against the rear door window, yearning for a slice of BCS. ACC has to see that B10 and SEC are in a separate class and their future competition lies with Big12 (PAC12 has protectionof being THE west coast league). This. NYC is not a college football town - it's all about hoops. With Cuse already in the league (and maybe Seton Hall and the Johnnies if the BE disbands), the ACC doesn't need UCONN to get full cable fees for the NYC market. Besides, with Calhoun gone, the program is likely to fade somewhat (or maybe significantly). Same with UCONN football now that Edsal's gone. BC already brings Boston and the greater New England area, so UCONN really doesn't add much to the ACC. UL brings a whole new market and stronger sports teams. Academically I don't know, but I'd guess they're a wash. But if they want UL, they have to jump now, or the B12 will end up getting them. If no one else gets plucked from the ACC, I'd say their preference would be: 1. Louisville 2. Temple 3. Cincy 4. UCONN 99. USF

I know this is the common perception, but has that ever been stated in open? Also, if the ACC wanted us and FSU and Miami were the only dissenting votes, they couldn't block us. Of course, that's a big, "IF"

I have heard on XM ESPN Radio, The Fan, and a few other channels that IF the ACC takes another football school from the Big East then the Big East basketball schools will move to vote to dissolve the Big East football conference, and will either move to raid other basketball conferences or merge with another major basketball conference. "IF" this occurs then USF, Natti, and either UL or UConn in addition to UCF, Houston, and SMU will be likely picked up by CUSA or the remaining schools can try to create a new conference on their own. Either way we are screwed. Navy will remain an Indy, while Boise State and San Diego State will likely go back to the MWC.
