If the Maryland and Rutgers rumors come to fruition, I believe the next round of expansion will end badly for USF and others in Big East, and a subsequent TV deal. In the order of expansion attractiveness, I think we are 5th, at best.

1. Rutgers - most likely to Big Ten per reports

2. Louisville - most likely to Big 12

3. Connecticut - most likely to ACC to replace Maryland

4. Cincinnati - most likely to Big 12 to help bridge the geographic gap to West Virginia

Assuming for a moment the dominos fall this way, that would keep the ACC at 14, take the Big 10 to 14, and take the Big 12 to 12. There is also discussion that ACC would be interested in St Johns as a basketball-only member. This would make sense as it would give the ACC an even number of basketball teams with Notre Dame joining, and it would give the ACC a basketball footprint in New York City.

This would leave USF relgated to essentially a modified version of C-USA with UCF, Memphis, Temple, SMU, Boise State and San Diego State. This would not be a conference that any network would want to throw much money towards.

Fully concur with your assessment, and would add that IF the ACC is raided by the Big10 then its only a matter of time before the SEC raids the ACC and takes Clemson and FSU which if you remember they were not too happy that the ACC instituted that buy out.

Its a long shot but hopefully for our sake the SEC does raid the ACC and takes enough teams to warrant the ACC to consider adding USF.

The Big Least will be lucky to get CDOA type numbers after Rutgers, Louisville, Cincy, and UConn all find lifeboats to a solid conference.

USF will stand by watching the world go by doing absolutely nothing.

BE will be toast within 1 week.

This is where a lack of vision by Judy and Doug will iltimately doom the football program.

Asinine to think they aren't trying to get something better for USF

You guys crack me up. You have no idea what Judy and Doug are doing. You assume that if they say they want to move to another conference, then poof, suddenly it happens. Another conference had to want you.

Can you tell me what they ARE doing?

How are we supposed to know? It's not like Pitt and Syracuse publicly announced their intentions before it happened...

Maybe that is why he wasn't at the basketball game today.

Alot of talk Big 12 may go to 11 with a UL invite to start either 2014 or 2015, and see who is best available for 12. (Also pisses FSU off more with ACC taking UConn)

VPI, FSU, Clemson and NC State will be fighting for SEC. One not picked would probably be 12 if they wanted.

All this conference realignment is going while USF sits on the couch with Sydney, Mohamed, Clayton and Jugdish.

ESPN plays hardball, but is it really illegal beanball?

Nope, and neither can you.

With the Big 10 going to 14 along with the SEC and ACC already there, why wouldn't the Big 12 ultimately go to 14?
