I go to the stadium to watch the game. I'm not there for "the experience" and don't pay much attention to the periphery, but I would say that

the National Anthem rendition from Saturday night was amazing (and regret that there were not more fans there to hear it). I'm not a band fan

so I ignore the HOT threads at every opportunity but that version should be presented more often.

And, as long as this is my only HOT post for the year, we were - thanks to an almost vacant stadium and mostly passive crowd - able to hear

the band last evening. Which is soooooo much more enjoyable than that strange and bizarre noise that gets played over the stadium speakers

during pre-game warm ups.

University of Nevada does the exact same thing. I wonder if we ripped that off from them?

After the National Anthem last night, which I thought was wonderful, I told my wife that it will be he highlight of the evening. Although we won, I was right.

It was good.

Seems the p a announcer was new. Younger sounding.

There was less stupid music.

I have to agree. The national anthem is meant to inspire a sense of pride, respectfulness, and energy, and last night it certainly did that despite the small crowd.

National Anthem was great last night, but unfortunately the Boy Scouts in the north end zone had the flag upside-down.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
