- The department is committed to winning. They went out and got one of, if not the hottest mid major coach on the biz. It was considered a coup. For whatever reason ( and I don't care right now. There are another 15 threads dedicated to this topic) it hasn't worked out. However canning the guy now, midseason does nothing good for the program move on. They aren't committed to winning they got a coach who we smashed in a BOWL game, my problem with the hire from day one. You can't can him yet but you can fire cosh

24-7 with ZERO points after Grothe went down with an ankle injury in the late 2nd quater is not a smashing, though it was on track to be.

Holtz was doing good things at ECU when we hired him.

patience people. can't expect instant gratification.

we are in year three of a rebuild. we haven't bottomed yet. 15 returning starters, 24 seniors this year. we will be young and inexperienced next year.

it takes 4 (maybe 5) years to get rid of all of leavitt's guys. It will take another 2 or 3 years for skip's guys t o get experience. if everything goes perfectly then we should expect to contend for league title in year 7 or 8. what's this ? year 3? hang on and enjoy the ride.

Really? I sense sarcasm......LOL :icon_drink: Edited by Mission9

Anybody who was there knows that we went into prevent offense after Grothe went down. Absolutely zero risk taken since ECU could move between the 20's but could not get it done in the red zone. (hmmm, sound familiar?)

What were were rebuilding? A team that went to 5 straight bowl games into a team that misses 5 straight bowls?

While I totally agree, you know that there are some on here who still poo poo those bowls, right?

no one is expecting a national championship for fucks sake.

we're sick of the blown 4th quarter leads. we're sick of the embarrassment.

there was a thread about what we expect as a fanbase and the overwhelming majority just expect us to compete for a big east championship. right now we are 0-3 in conference with a loss to ball state. by every reasonable standard, this is failure.

Winning post

We can still match our best BE record of 4-3... this would be instant gratification.

Enduring crappy year after crappy year with no end in sight is not low brow and instant gratification. A lot of thought has gone into the criticism of the program. Probably way more thought than it takes to make the same mistakes over and over and over year after year.

Then it must not be the coach, so what is it? Still the program's growing pains ....?
