I like the fact that he's a solid coach.... we can double his salary to 1 million, add 500k for Holtz' buyout and we end up saving 500k against the 2 million we're paying Holtz and we get a better coach IMO.

Please someone show me a downside....

Oh yeah.. and he locks up local recruiting.

Well, there is that $2.5 mil buyout that will eat up your $500k savings...

Which is $500k a year, which is what he was referring to when he said "add 500k for Holtz' buyout." It's already accounted for in his equation.
