There has always been said on this board that no Florida kid grows up wanting to play for USF. Well I found one that did.

Winthrop So. PG Andre Smith(Tampa, Fl)is not a fan of Stan Heath or USF basketball anymore

"When i see and think about USF basketball it drives me to work harder."

"A school that is five minutes away from my house and didnt even send a letter. And i personally knew the coach"

"Coach Heath is motivation"

This is the type of player you would be ripping Heath for recruiting. You called Anthony Collins at best Sun Belt quality...... so you would go nuts if Heath offered someone who only had offers from Winthrop and East Tennessee State.

5'10'', 160 lbs. | Class of 2011 was not rated on rivals or scout and had a 2* rating on the espn recruiting site. Maybe Stan regrets not offering after the fact but we had a lot of turnover at the PG position that he had no idea was going to happen. Dority since left, and If I remember nash was a top JC recruit that he signed.

Strengths:

Smith is a true lead guard that plays under control and makes good decisions with the ball. He will push in transition and he can make open shots to the arc on a consistent basis. Smith has a good looking stroke with a high release and follows through.

maybe Heath could've asked him to walk-on? either way i don't hold it against Heath, you can't please everybody. and from the reports that's been posted it seems he just wasn't good enough.
