I said this last night to my buddy, BJ Daniels has the athletics ability and the talent to be a great QB, but we shouldn't be talking about potential in his 5th year. He does not have the mental capabilities to be a QB nor the leadership qualities.

we don't use him right.

skip tries to make BJ adapt to his offense

He should adapt his offense to BJ's abilities

feel sorry for the kid

he would be blowing up in Snyder's adapted offense. That Klein guy is getting some good press. he just carries it 20+ times per game, averages 3.6 ypc and throws it 15 times per game.

BJ is averaging 33 pass attempts per week. not exactly adapting to his strengths.

BJD is a dud... he failed under Leavitts BJ friendly system, and he has failed under Skips...

Regardless of which system he is under he makes the same mistakes.

lol @ the experiment is over. no ****. this is his senior year, it's over either way. he may graduate as the BE all time leader in total offense, but he just doesn't have the drive. he is a far superior athlete than Grothe, bigger arm, faster legs, but Grothe had so much heart and grit and WILLED us to many comeback wins.

that said, our receivers were dropping balls all over the place last night. that's not entirely on BJ.

clearly he could be gaining big yards running the ball 20 times a game, but who is his backup if he gets hurt?

so you blame a QB for not fitting into the system but not the system for adapting to the QBs strengths?

Remember that spectacular catch that was a sure-interception... that throw into TRIPLE COVERAGE that should've never been?

This is indicative of his thought processs. The guy makes three 50+ yd TDs last week, and then shows up and thinks because he has "confidence" in his receivers that he can just lob the ball down the field and the receivers will just go get it, and if necessary rip it away from a defender.

That's not how the QB position is supposed to be played.

The "experiment" should begin--with a new QB. Now. I don't care if time is split, but our top backup needs to be playing every game (and didn't someone from the coaching staff say this would happen anyway?).

can't coach scared.

if he is a natural born runner then you need to run him without fear of injury.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
