There's some overboard negativity yes, but let's not kid ourselves. This Rutgers team we should've HAMMERED! They have a young QB, lost a TON on both sides of the ball and they lost their ENTIRE COACHING STAFF! That's chaos folks.

you realize that their Head Coach was on their staff for the last 7 years has assistant head coach. im not sure about all their position coaches but its not like Schiano came to tampa with a Big east staff

Matt. EVERY COACH ON THE STAFF LEFT but him! lol Big difference what he was doing before and what he's doing how. That's how SAD this story is. This guy had to go out and hire about anyone he could find. A ton of guys NO ONE wanted bc Rutgers was absolutely not an attractive gig when Schiano left.

Yet some how, that squad KICKED OUR ASS even when their team was shooting themselves in the foot at every turn. That's how BAD we were. They played AWFUL with inferior talent and lacking experience coaching (as evidenced by their penalties) and they still beat us IN OUR HOUSE with a 22 upper classman.

Matt, we're not asking to line up and win 10 games playing an SEC schedule! We're a 40k student university located in a MECCA of football talent, of which is better than the teams we line up against in THIS CONFERENCE and yet WE CAN'T WIN! When Miami was in this conference, they raped it year after year. We can't even win it once when everyone better than us HAS LEFT!

Based on what?

Also, not being shocked the team lost a game isn't the same as saying you expect a losing season. The team was never going to go undefeated, and that's about it.

both plant and armwood (our two best programs) just got absolutely beat down by a team in LA and a team in FL.

and my point is---if you are a 16 year old or 17 year old, you are going to go where football is important. we got kids on our team that were bigger stars in high school then they are in college. bj daniels could probably stroll right thru Cooper Hall and go unrecognized by 75% of the students. I bet Matt Barkley needs a security team to take a step on campus at USC

You think USC never had a losing year. You think ND never had a losing year. You think the Gators never had a losing year. You think Alabama never had a losing year.

yet we are in our 16th year, 11th in d-1 and our fanbase some how automatically thinks we are deserving of BCS bowls every year.

WE ARE 2-1. We were in this game with 2:31 left even after terrible mistakes against the best Defense in the Big East. Yet everyone expects BJ Daniels to be the best QB in the Country. He is what he is. And that is an athletic guy with a big arm but not a QB. Stop losing your hat. We will still have a winning year. Andre Davis is the best WR we have ever had. Our D-Line is undersized and soft.

The difference between all those teams having losing years followed more losing years is that they fired their coaches and corrected the mistakes. They don't stay down for long.

With the exception of Syracuse, every other team in the BE has won at least a share in the BE championship since we have been in the BE. Why shouldn't we start expecting to be in the hunt? UCONN came into D1 the same year or maybe a year after us. They joined BE football a year before us.

We are asking for every year, but how about 1 time. We have invested tremendous amounts of money in facilities upgrades. We deserve better than 1-8 in the last 9 BE conference games. Don't know if anyone is paying attention, but we have lost 5 straight home games to FBS teams. Not counting UTC, an FCS team, Since we play at Ball State away next week, it will be over one full year since we have beaten an FBS team at home.
