The recordbook for QB stats should just say "Marquel Blackwell"

Grothe.

2007 may be unmatched for the level of euphoria in the program for quite awhile. Out of nowhere our team reached #2 status. Though it was a flash in the pan, it was a pretty epic flash to live in for that moment. Even if we, say, made the Orange Bowl this year, I don't think it'd be as epic as shooting up the #2 when nobody knew the name of our university. Grothe embodied that team. Sure, he had a lot of help, but he was the face. Yes, even over All American George Selvie who by the middle of conference play was already proving to not be as good as the hype, and Mike Jenkins who was **** good, but was a CB and had a limited ceiling "favorite" wise for most because of that.

How did that season end again? I forgot.

Sure. I can see that point of view, I suppose.

Nothing's been cooler before or since though.

I'm not choosing between Andre Hall leading us to a conference title, or BJ Daniels leading us to our first BCS game (yet).

Sadly enough, a 9-win season featuring a #2 ranking where the wheels fell off at the end, is our best season ever.

Please stay on topic. This is hardly the point.

Nate Allen was great too! It didn't end as it should have, but 2007 was an exciting year.

Anthony Henry, both for his play on the field and the great example he has been off the field. Nobody else is close imho.
