...and the Big East is able to pull in all of the schools it wants, gets to 12 teams, has a championship game, and most importantly, keeps is BCS status........is all forgiven with Marinatto and his seemingly helplessness of being a commish? Does he turn his table around to look like the hero that saved the conference?

Only if the Big East is able to corral BYU do I think Marrinatto looks like a hero!

The conference will be in better shape at the end of this than it was when we were looking for our tenth member. That being said, his " awe shucks, I wish they didn't leave" attitude will always make him look weak and incompetent. He still has a few hurdles left to make himself look better:

1. ***** slap the BB only schools into second fiddle status.

2.Get BYU for football

3. Get us a 16-18 Million dollar per school TV deal. Anything less than 15M per school will be considered sub par and leave us vulnerable for future poaching.

4. Target two more schools to get us to 14 football schools. 1 football only and 1 all sports. This will help keep the balance.

5. DO NOT PUT THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME IN NY

All this being said, The Big East had the hardest hurdles to overcome in expansion. We are the last BCS conference to renegotiate our TV deal. This new deal should end somewhere in the middle of all the other conferences TV contracts. We don't want to be last again. It leaves us more vulnerable than we need to be. This may put us in a position to actually poach another BCS conference in the future for teams 13 and 14......Just a thought anyways.

Yessir... BYU is the best program left and it also has a national fan base... why not? I might even give Marrinatto a hug if he gets this done

No. And the 'new' BE is not better than the current BE. The incoming schools do not have the academic or overall athletic stature of those departing, particularly Pitt and Syracuse. Fingers crossed that we and the other current BE football schools get picked up by quality conferences in the next couple years. Then the BE can properly focus on basketball.
