In my opinion, most of the BE teams (UConn, Rutgers, Pitt, Syracuse, etc) are built like a big 10 ten team.  The have big OLs and downhill runners.  We are built with speed and finesse and unlike WV we don't have enough athletes to exploit the lesser teams.  That's why WV routs UConn and we lose. Also, we don't have 1 QB that is a threat to throw the ball down the filed.

Also, we practice against ourselves.  So you can't simulate the different style of play.  We need to recruit a different type of lineman and more skilled athletes not to mention a QB that can make the right read and throw the ball down the field.

It's very frustrating.  I think there is maybe one or two more wins on this schedule and sadly the BULLs won't be bowling. With all of the conf reallignment mess going on this has been one of the most depressing seasons in a while.  :(

Hit the nail on the head, hermano.  ;D

We need a BCS caliber QB, we need to get deeper at all of the skill positions, we need to become a violent defense, we need all of things that takes many programs a hell of a lot longer than 15 years to do.  Time is not our friend in all of this.  Its the same formula to beat us-year in and year out-and no one strays from it....

Run it between the tackles, blitz our shorter QB's who have been athletes playing the QB position, run simple a sharp routes against our soft coverage, and frustrate our team into penalties.  Tell me the last time a team beat us and we did not give up 100 yard rusher, made a bad QB look good, or give up enough penalty yards to build a stadium.

In our conference, we need to get bigger up front, get a QB who is an mathlete, and learn to read a route effectively.  Some of that coaching and some of that is talent.  Either way, were just  not there yet.

Only teams in conference with a good QB are WVU and Cincy.

QB is not a major part of our sucktitude

No QB, general lack of talent on offense, defense, special teams.

A possibility:

Our strategy has always been very easy to adapt to. This might be why we always start out strong and can win huge out of conference games but can't defeat easy teams we have played before.

This could also explain why we are usually competitive in the first half but stop moving the ball and start giving up points in the second.

It seems that during the half the DC of the other team easily figures us out but yet we don't have them figured out or are unable to adapt to their new strategy quickly enough.

I also think that though Daniels has made huge gains in his ability, some of his natural talent has been lost in the new system. His instinct has suffered. I could be wrong but it almost felt like he has been scared to throw an interception this season.

Say what you want, but weather IS a factor.  Maybe not THE factor, but A factor.  It's just hard for Florida players to play in cold, windy, dry conditions.  It just is.  Miami was able to overcome this when they were in the BE because they had superior athletes by far to everyone else.  Although we do have a little better athletes than for example UConn, they aren't that much better to overcome this and other factors.  Just like it's hard for northern teams to play in Florida humidity, it's even harder for a Florida team to go north and play on a raw cold windy day.  We would be much better if we played all our games in Florida or the South East, but we don't.  That's why the ACC or SEC would be a better conf. for us.
