  1. I say we pull the switch and go after Butch Davis. The guy left a mess at UNC but has proven to also clean up messes at Florida schools. He cleaned the Dennis Erickson mess at UMiami and proved to be an amazing recruiter. Do you all remember how loaded that 2001 Miami team was with all his recruits?
  2. If i was Bridgewater, I'd go to Auburn.. that offense, after Cam Newton, will not skip a beat with Bridgewater at the helm.
  3. I'm over these mobile quarterbacks.. give me someone who can stand in the pocket and pick apart a defense
  4. Don't you think that ultimately lead to Leavitt's demise? the fact that he performed so poorly when conference play rolled around? what is the point of beating Auburn when you're gonna lose to rutgers, uconn, and cincy in a row, losing your #2 ranking to unranked? what is the point of beatin Kansas when you're gonna go 2-5 in BE play and headed to a St Pete bowl? what is the point of beating FSU when you're gonna go 3-4 in BE play, getting blasted 34-17 to Cincy, 41-14 to Pitt, and 31-0 to rutgers? another thing, i didn't realize the head coach schedules the games.. i always though it was the athletic director
  5. Relax. It's a basic opinion/discussion.. he's about to win a division title and he's still got a job. for all the UCF/GOL bashing that goes on in this forum and in the past, you can't take a way the fact that he gets results with his program.
  6. Jim may have had better athletes due to being in a BCS conference, but was he the better coach? GOL is on the verge of winning his second Conference Title and has won a Conference Division 3 times. before someone brings up the 4-0 record vs UCF, but that could also be due to talent disparity.. by that logic, Leavitt is a better coach than Skip Holtz due to the 1-0 record vs ECU
  7. you shouldn't have put this on the main board... forum nazi's will move this to the State of Florida section
  8. Much like our #2 ranking of the past, this is just representative of their body of work thus far, not how good of a team they are. We all know they probably couldn't beat any of the Big 3 or us if going head to head. Kudos to them for having a great year thus far. That Godfrey kid is a keeper and could catapult them to a conference title.
  9. From what I remember, Gunsby was a guy that Holtz and crew were recruiting from their ECU days that flipped to us when Holtz came over. So, i guess you can say that he is "C-USA - level" talent.. but at this point, with the Big East the way it is, I think he has enough to be competitive in conference. I don't think the BCS conferences are completely Head & Shoulders above the mid-majors like C-USA in terms of talent (with the exception of maybe the SEC). again, it all comes down to coaching and I think Holtz and crew don't want to mess this Gunsby kid up, even if its during a transition period. And like he says, he doesn't like the idea of "baptizing" a kid into college football on the road in hostile environments against conference foes. Its hard enough to do it, even with knowing the playbook inside & and out. We don't know if he will be the savior, but i'm willing to bet he is better than what Leavitt left us at the helm
  10. I'm not sure starting Eveld or Gunsby is the best option.. i think our only hope is to switch to a purely run-option offense.
  11. Whatever Gunsby is, he is a better "fit" for the offense. I'm not saying he's cam newton, he's just not BJD.
  12. Would you rather have Jeffrey Godfrey or BJ Daniels at QB?
