I'll take a loss at ND and against Miami if it means we finish the season 10 and 2. Big East or BUST. I want to go to a BCS game.

We are "supposed" to lose to ND. we are also supposed to contend for the BE at some point in our history.

absolutely take the Pitt win.

If I was going to ND I would say that it would be that game... call me greedy, but a 10+ hour ride home after a loss would suck.

Tampa, FL to South Bend, IN is 1139 miles.  You'd be looking at 20 hours without stopping...

1139 / 20 = 57 mph ... What are you, 80 years old??   :D

Use to do it every summer(family) ... 19-22 hours.

Without stopping??  8-)

Its good to see people finally coming around.  I've been arguing this point for the last 5 season or so.  Beating the UFs, FSUs, Miamis and Notre Dames are nice, but that doesn't help you win the conference.  Winning the conference is the biggest goal we have until we do it.  Sure a win in South Bend would be great too, but not if it meant a Pitt loss.  Remember this is a Pitt team that has had our number the last couple of years too.

As a life long ND fan I can't believe I'm saying that the Pitt Win would be bigger, but it just is.

This is why I asked it Joe, and I agree with you that it is great to see our program maturing to the point that the conference champioship opportunity is more important than one nice, flashy win out of conference.

I seriously doubt the BE winner goes undefeated. A loss at Pitt wouldn't knock us out of the race. A win at Notre Dame would conjure up the wins against Auburn, FSU and Miami in the national media. People in here talk all the time about positive national exposure that we do still need and the win on 9/3 would give us 10 times more than a win on 9/29 ... and those two games are all you asked about.  ;)
