Let's be honest, while there might be a few gay students who'll take advantage of this, the vast and overwhelmingly majority will be heterosexual male and females taking advantage of the opportunity to cohabitate. I actually prefer living with a member of the opposite sex because it motivates me to clean and do chores more often. Have always looked at roomies as sisters. Lived in a coed dorm at USF, coed by suite, and we all left our doors open/unlocked 24/7 (Leadership House, Theta), there was no additional debauchery there vs. coed-by-floor or non-coed dorms, and I expect the leap to coed rooms to be the same. College kids who date within the dorm end up essentially living in each other's rooms anyways, so it's not like it doesn't already happen constantly. That said.... I still hate Rutgers. Our neighbors my freshman year were chicks. THAT alone was enough trouble...I couldn't imagine living in the same room with one of them. Wait, yes I could!!!!
