Wade Phillips lost control of the team a long time ago, as is displayed by all the boneheaded play for the last two months. Aside from maybe the receivers, pretty much everybody has been a disappointment all year. If they hire someone like Cowher to come in and straighten people up, they'll be fine and Mike (I believe) will get back to the high level of play that we got used to seeing from him at USF. I would guess that he thought the carrier was going down, but the whole helmet-to-helmet thing could definitely have been a factor because he was coming in at that angle when the ball handler was learning over. Either way, I don't think it was an intention "F*** THIS" type of giving up. You can see the frustration as soon as the carrier goes by him.Mike's in the wrong for sure; he should have finished the play.
