Give this topic a rest.1. Bridgewater is a drop back QB that happens to be athletic..2. Carnes was not a terrible passer... no idea where you got that from. Have you ever even seen the kid play? Programs like Nebraska don't take terrible passers.3. Bridgewater is precisely what we need at QB right now.4. Carnes' offer was taken away because after Leavitt was fired he opened up his options and scheduled some official visits to WKU and Nebraska. Holtz didn't have time(or the scholarships) to mess around and he was going to bring in 'his guy' Gunsby whom he was recruiting at ECU...Teddy Bridgewater would be a game changer for our program. IMO he would be a 4 year starter... Teddy is the absolute truth.

Do you guys want to win games? There is absolutely nothing negative to be said about getting the #3 QB in the country to commit here. This would be the biggest recruit we've ever had. Make it happen Holtz.
Guest nybullsfan
Just watched the highlight vid, thanks! My only on-field concern is the quality of receivers he's used to working with. On almost all of his throws in the vid, he did NOT go through any kind of progression, he just threw it to the primary receiver. When the receiver corps is as strong as it is at MNW, that may not be a problem. Here at USF, he'll need to learn how to look over the whole field, or he'll turn into an INT machine. That said, I hope he commits, so UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should he be brought to the Auburn basketball game. One look at the low scoring, empty seats, and lack of spirit and we lose him.

The fact is, most high school quarterbacks go through a read or two at most. The defenses aren't exceedingly complex. Most high school qbs are taught to key the safeties and quickly identify coverages. Based on what coverage they read they throw the ball to the target of their choice. Its not like you see some **** Lebaeu zone blitzes in high school. A HS coach may argue this point a LITTLE bit but i'd say the vast majority make one or two reads and throw/run.for example, in high school a qb may receive the snap, drop back and watch the strong safety and give a quick glance at the free safety, if both drop into deep zones its is likely a cover 2 so he might throw the post over top of the middle lineback and between the two safeties.the game gets considerably more complex at the college level where they are expected to make more reads against higher quality defenses. Exactly. Let's hope he can learn it if he comes here, and that he can't learn it if he goes to Miami. >
