how could we not open up a spot for this guy....it would be a DUMB move by USF if it didnt happen

Well, we do have some proven college coaches on the staff.  It would be a DUMB move to fire an assistant just to hire Anderson, then he either sucks or decides he doesn't like coaching.

+1

It would be nice, if we had a spot. To get rid of a coach with experience, on a team who made great strides this past season would be rather illogical.

Well a coach could leave for another job. The two best coaches on staff are Eric Skeeters and Jeremy Cox. We cannot loose Skeeters period. Cox could pull a Dan Hipsher. If we could have Skeeters and Anderson on staff the recruiting would be fun to follow. With us needing a stud PG in the 2011 class Anderson coming in this May will be right on time.

why bring in a guy to teach about coaching...we need to bring in solid coaches who add to the program not take flyers on coaches, we just stopped doing that on players.

I am sure we can get a graduate assistant type position for him.

I think that is paerfect because we can "teach" him how to be a coach and one of the best pg in the history of college bball is now associated with our program. Then when one of our top assistants leave we can promote him.

A good addition that could help build the USF basketball brand and give us what should be a quality assistant.

Anderson also has plenty of ties to the New York-area, a major recruiting hub for Big East programs.

This is the part I'm wondering about - what kind of ties? It's fine having an assistant coach who everyone knows who he is, but the real value of this hire would be how well-integrated he is with the HS & AAU programs there.

I like the potential momentum for the program, possibly getting a guy like Anderson at the same time the new Sun Dome hoops annex building is going up, and post-season this year for the first time in a while, even if it's only NIT - seems like it could be a chance to attract some more talent to campus.

I was a Freshman at Molloy when Kenny was a SR.  Talk about a living legend.  He was Prince of the City and ran that school.  Im not sure that there's ever been a more hyped HS bball player outside of Lebron.  Would be awesome if our paths indirectly met again with him at USF.
