With Pitt's win today the Big East is 2-0 in bowl season so far.

(BTW if anyone caught that game how great was that fake snap playcall during their 1st GW field goal attempt. So simple and so genius!)

On paper we should beat NIU and WVU should beat FSU...on paper.

UCONN and USC will be very interesting and I'm pretty confident that a good amount of us are going to be big Cincy fans during the Sugar Bowl right?

If the Big East does run the table with the bowl games and wins the Bowl Challenge Cup or maybe just really good bowl record like 5-1 do you think people will end with the whole "Big Least" talk.

People will never end with the Big Least talk, even though the facts have suggested otherwise.

The Big East proves over and over that they can play with the big boys. The respect will never be given.

BE needs a dominant power that wins the big games in & out of conference

Here's the reasons people like to diss the BE:

1. No big marquis programs. --- But yet, Pitt and WVU both have some great tradition, and Syracuse does too. WVU has been a national force the last few years with consistent high rankings during the Pat White era. Louisville has had success, and Cincinnati has alot of history, as does Rutgers, but both of them haven't been powerhouses.

2. Only 8 teams. Yet, there has been decent parity in recent years, even after the ACC raid. And while 9 teams would be the best, we at least play a round robin schedule, whereas some years teams like UF won't play Auburn or Alabama, and other 12 team divisions have teams that may not play every year.

I think the MWC cronies and other haters need to start pointing fingers at the ACC. The ACC has been losing games to teams from FCS teams, coming up short in bowl games, and generally just falling flat on the national stage in recent years. FSU is down, and the "U" is not back. Or look at the Big 10, 11, 11+1, whatever they're going to be. They can't win bowl games either, and everyone outside of their own conferences' homers, nobody likes their style of football.

The BE doesn't have the best scheduling, but it's not the weakest, and the BE at least wins the games they're supposed to. It's ok, I kinda like the continuous hate, it just makes it so much more fun when we prove everyone wrong year after year after year. And when basketball season comes around, all the BE hate stops for some reason...hmmmm.

The BE will not get any respect until a team wins a national title.  Our resume at the moment says that the Big Least talk should be dead in the water but the media outlets keep that fire brewing and inturn the casual college football fan runs with it.  Anyone who actually does their own research into OOC records bowl records etc knows the deal but the average fan usually just trusts ESPN or other outlets to do that for them.

Cincinnati was about to become one until Kelly took the Notre Dame job.

We need to do well in the bowl games, especially the Sugar Bowl and Papa Johns Bowl b/c were playing SEC teams. Even then there would still be some lack of respect. Kelly leaving I think hurts as Cincy definitely would be competing for a national championship over the next few years. Want to show that the Big East is not a stepping stone to bigger coaching jobs in the future.

Big Least talk won't stop until either the Big East is able to command better bowl tie-ins or one of its members wins the national championship, whichever happens first.

The problem is the majority of BE bowl wins are against crap. Outside of the two WVU wins what does the BE have? We got shelved in a big one vs. Oregon. Cincy waS beat by an awful VT team.

That being said we don't lose games we shouldn't

That being said

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
