We've done both .... Next? How soon they forget. :-\ While USF's Big East record is short of stellar, they have indeed defeated every team at least once.I know we have beaten Cincy and Rutgers .. Then stop making stupid, misleading comments like that .... I think "stupid" is the wrong term. Im sure most USF fans cant remember the last time we beat Rutgers or Cincy (05-06, looong time ago), especially if they are students (assuming they are 4 year students). I mean if you pay attention we get our **** kicked in by them every year.I'll be perfectly honest, I have never heard the term "**** kicked in" before ..... Some New York prose? Some New York prose?LOL, I guess, usually used after a losing weekend of gambling or night at the casino. But can be used by a constant beating in a sports event. like we do to UCF if you want me to be postitive.

Just the other day, I was showing my wife the property the company I work for used to occupy talking about how things were like it was just a couple of years ago. I also found myself remarking about all of the changes in the area. Then I realized, much to my chagrin, that we had moved at the end of 1995 . I would not have gone to USF if they did not have football. My parents some Tampa natives told me USF would never have a football team silly gaytors. haha... Well for those who don't know here is a little info... When Allen arrived in Tampa in 1957, the new university did not have a name, physical plant, faculty or students. He and his administrative team began to build a modern university from scratch. Thereafter, the university expanded rapidly, the first undergraduate classes were held in the fall of 1960, and the first graduate degree programs began in 1964. Under Allen's leadership, South Florida heralded itself as the "Harvard of the South," and emphasized academics to the complete exclusion of intercollegiate athletics. Allen was known for his opposition to college sports in favor of a more academically centered university environment.

I'm younger, but did he ever play/coach at USF? Or is he just some big name guy who donates alot? He already has a toll-heavy raised expressway named after him...let's leave it to some corporate sponsors.I'd be down for JL field @ so and so Stadium. Like Jim Leavitt Field at SunTrust Stadium. Then we can give it a Bulls themed nickname, like how UF has 'The Swamp'. It could be The Slaughterhouse, or The Pen.Welcome to Thunderdome, *****!How little you know about USF's football and over all athletics history.Selmon lead the fundraising when USF initially approved the creation of the football team. He got the ball rolling to fund the program, and he had the contacts with big businesses to secure the big money donations. I believe he had input on the hiring of the initial coach, and depending on your view of Jim Leavitt, that is either a pro or con.He also stepped into the role of Athletic Director when USF was facing that scandal from the racist women's basketball coach. That scandal brought down Paul Griffin, who was the AD at the time. Selmon was a stabilizing presence for an athletic program in turmoil at that time. After health problems forced Selmon from the AD position, he returned to his favored job of fundraising for USF. He could have stepped away because of his health issues, but he remained loyal to USF, and he still represents USF in a positive light.I am not sure if this qualifies Selmon for the honor of naming a stadium, but he sure deserves a statue more than anyone else associated with USF athletics.
