A number of season tix purchased last year were UCF fans who already had season tix, got another block, sold the Texas ticket, made a profit on the season(as the Texas game was selling for over 200) and didn't renew the 2nd block.

All things considered, there doesn't seem to be a sophomore slump.

So, if we do buy that story, it means that there is absolutely no buzz at all over there for a UCF program coming off their most successful football season ever ....

Noooo...That means new people have moved into those seats that weren't renewed.  While the number sold might not have changed much, the number of different fans with season tickets has gone up.

Dozer, I know you wouldn't have been paying attention, but UCF last year didn't realize that they would sell as many season tickets as they did(really).  They encouraged people when you picked your seat to buy more blocks of tickets(they asked me and I wasn't even near the top of the donation tree).  Many people took up on the offer and ended up selling those tickets on a regular basis.  People, especially Texas people, paid good money for that game.  For many(not all) people, that one ticket paid for a whole season and then some.  Those Texas fans in Florida REALLY wanted to go.  It was Texas' first game in the Sunshine State since the mid 70s.

With numbers like that, they should really start building that expansion to TinCan Stadium.

Let me get this straight ... somewhere in the season ticket selling process UCF sees that they are not selling as well as anticipated and begin to beg people to buy an extra block. Apparently over 3k people took pity and helped them out. This year those people did not renew the extra Pity Block they purchased but new people have supposedly snapped those tickets up to get the season ticket count back up to where it was at this point last year. Last year it appears that somewhere around 3K season tickets were sold that last month before the season started. Should be interesting to see where the final tally comes in at .... and what kind of gimmicks to sell tickets they pull out this last month.

You guys are an entertaining bunch.  Most aren't particularly bright, but still entertaining.

A lot of what guys are picking on isn't that meaningful in and of itself, but the fact guys like Knight Light come to boards like this and try to gleen off things like this and make light of anything we do.  The point is the picking, and prodding is mostly in retaliation of the ignorant, and 'not particularly bright' attacking of anything USF by guys like KL, or Sir Galasnad who seem to always find something to pick on us about.

I remember reading your board a week ago and those two dorks were trying to pick apart our sales gimmicks.  That very same day UCF announced that if they wouldn't sell single game tixs for the uSF game.  Fans would be forced to buy a season tix package to get a ticket....hence a 'sales gimmick'.  Again, in and of itself not a big deal and a very sensible idea by a ticket sales group trying to strum up sales and additional interest.  We've done things like that before too.  When I pointed out the fact they ALSO used a 'sales gimmick', suddenly they went into spin mode and said it was done to not let USF fans scoop up more tickets (which contradicts their ignorant opinions that we only brought like 2-3k for our last venture to Orlando), and it wasn't a 'sales gimmick' at all.  Whatever floats their boats but you see those guys and their stupid obsession with USF is what incite USF fans to follow suit and pick apart UCF stuff...and in a funny manner too. Gotta give our guys credit at least they're comical in their approach, not malicious like some of the knight fans.
