I didn't want to get into the helmet discussion....BUT

I was over at the Athletics building today, and I noticed a helmet sitting on a shelf upstairs that had a GREEN iconic U with the gold/black outline like the current one. Black facemask though. I don't know if this is something new, or an old prototype. I did notice it was Riddell though (didn't have the BE logo on the front)

do they use Riddell or Schutt helmets on the field now?

A green helmet is the ugliest thing I have ever heard.  It's bad enough that the pants are green.  Leave the helmet color alone!

Agreed.  Green helmets give me bad memories of the Sun Bowl.  Maybe we could do green helmets like once in a great while as one of those "black out" type situations schools do, but not as a mainstay.

And while we're critiquing, what's up with the numbers on the back of the helmets?? Shouldn't they all have the same amount of space in between the two digits? How does that look to the rest of the nation .....?
