Anyway....I saw a number of idiots posting how C-USA was just as good as Big East and thought I would check out the facts:

This year: 

Big East vs. Big 10:  2-2

Big East vs. ACC: 2-4 (that's embarrassing)

Big East vs. SEC: 1-3

Big East vs. Big 12: 2-0

Big East vs. Notre Dame/Navy:  3-0

Big East vs. C-USA:  4-0

C-USA vs. Big East:  0-4

C-USA vs. All BCS: 3-22

C-USA vs. Big East since 2005 - 1-18

UCF All Time vs Big East 0-however many times they've played

I'm sure all of this has been posted and it's accuracy is NOT guaranteed because it was done in about 10 minutes.  A google search could have probably turned up some of the info.  I used a magazine and manual tabulations.

Bottom line:  don't believe their hype. :

To put it in even more perspective, their conference's bowl resume this year....

CUSA #1  - East Carolina     LOST (17-20)   to SEC #7  ArKansas

CUSA #2  - Houston          LOST (20-47)   to MWC #4  Air Force

CUSA #3  - UCF                LOST (24-45)   to Big East #4  Rutgers

CUSA #4  - SMU                WON (45-10)   to WAC #2   Nevada

CUSA #5  - Southern Miss   LOST (32-42)  to Sun Belt #2  Middle Tenn St

So to wrap it up, 4 or their top 5 teams lost bowl games by an average of 15 points to the SEC#7, MWC#4, Big East#4 and Sun Belt #2.  That performance is pitiful.

You probably should have mentioned that the Nevada win was a little unusual.  Nevada had 3 players that had rushed for 1,000 yards each this season.  2 of those 3 were out for that game so SMU was very fortunate there.
