That is actually the problem most of us would have with a 16 team playoff.  I am in favor of a playoff, but something more like 4 - 8 teams.  Conference champions shouldn't automatically get in.  It is different in basketball where they take 68 teams and have teams 61 - 68 play a play in game then get destroyed by the #1 seeds.  There just aren't enough spots in college football for teams like Troy and UCF.

Yes, UCiF's 2 all-time wins against BCS-conference opponents (a 3-8 Alabama and a 5-7 NC State) more than qualifies them for a chance to play for the national title.

if they made a playoff system, i doubt the writer at Yahoo would have any say in it's layout.

they shouldn't even let CDOA have a bid of that was the case; it's too weak of a conference.
