The PZ Bowl was a joke. OK.. so how does this stuff work? Seriously, how is it that the BE - just being honest - is tied into these particular bowl games?Would the conference - or any conferece for that matter - ever opt for 'Thanks, but no'? I can't see why they would. This is all about bidness, and in this world, we're gonna squeeze that college football grape for every drop of juice we can get. Is there ever an incentive to say "Fellas...last year was a pretty lame experience, if y'all don't spruce things up again, we may just turn down the invite...get someone else". Then again, my bet is there's always gonna be some school that would step in (something being better than nothing in the grand scheme of things).Does the ACC feel the same way about their tie into the Int'l Bowl as - apparently - we (see my highly scientific poll) feel? Is B'ham going to be a bit better prepared this year? It ain't like they won't see it coming? Then again...could it be that we've gotten past the 'any bowl' desire and now have higher expectations? I think that 9-2 team from a few years back would have liked the 'any bowl' idea.I'm just asking... 8)

The Champs Sports Bowl is pretty firmly set with a nice ACC and Big 10 matchup. The liberty bowl will not drop their CUSA tie in because of their ties to the univ. of Memphis. In an area dominated by the SEC and ACC tie ins getting bowl bids is gonna have to be a great movement by Trangese and friends. The BE should be in a good enough position to demand that. I would realistically like to see...1) BCS2) Gator (no sharing, Sun is too far)3) Meineke4) Houston (no sharing, no reason to with CDOA, our teams are always going to be better)5) Insert St Pete bowl here6/7) BHam/Intl bowls go here, not up at #3 or 4. We dropped our pants and gave the Gator Bowl the shot at a conference with several traditional programs. It's gonna be tough to get a pure game back there.Texas Bowl- CUSA helped bankroll its revival, which is why they get a bid every oher year. The key will be offering the #2 selection to a bowl game that has a #4-5 selection. I.e. - Taking the ACC's Music city Bowl selection.

However, I just don't see them taking two teams from the sunshine state. Wouldn't they prefer one of the Virginia or Carolina teams to help boost the attendance figures?
