We’ll have to leapfrog at least 3 of these 10 teams who also won this week:

#20 Hawaii (W45-44 at Louisiana Tech)

#21 GT (W69-14 Samford)

#23 A&M (W47-45 Fresno State)

#24 Tenn (W39-19 Southern Miss)

#25 Clemson (W49-26 Louisiana-Monroe)

#26 Boston College (W37-17 NC State)

#27 Missouri (W38-25 Ole Miss)

#29 Oregon (W39-7 Michigan)

#30 Alabama (W24-10 Vandy)

#33 South Carolina (W16-12 Georgia)

I think we'll jump Bama and Missouri, but I fear we'll be left outside at #26.

The SC and Oregon wins were perhaps as impressive as our win, and the rest of the other teams seem to be too far ahead of us in the last poll for us to overtake them.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hawaii and Texas A&M fell out of the poll even though they won. They both won in overtime and A&M probably should have lost their game. TCU will fall out, as will Boise State. Auburn might fall out too, and logically USF should be ranked ahead of them wherever they land.

Oregon's win is a little tainted because everyone agrees Michigan is crap right now.

Also, Michigan, Miami, Oregon State, Wake Forest, and Southern Miss won't get many votes this week, if any. Those have to go somewhere. Cincinnati will probably pick up some after they dropkicked OSU.

Of all those teams listed, only South Carolina beat a higher ranked opponent than we did. We should crack the Top 25 for going on the road and beating the 13th ranked team.

It's unfortunate that we're #26, but if you look at it objectively it's fair.  I think there’s a slim chance that we could move up during the bye week.

No actually there is a great chance.

First we are BARELY behind aTm for 25th, and not too far behind #22 Tenn.

Second, by not playing next week, we will just sit back and watch teams lose.  Several Top 25 teams will lose next week, such as:

#24 Hawaii plays at UNLV, could lose.

#22 Tenn plays at FL, will lose

#21 BC and #15 GT play each other, one will lose

#19 Oregon plays a good Fresno St team, might lose (they played aTm tough)

#16 Ark plays at Ala, could lose.

At least 2 to 3 teams will lose next week if not more, so we will get in next week without even playing

These two are key and I prefer a GT win.  A BC win will keep both in the Top 25.

Correct, unless BC and Tenn both pull upsets on the road next week, we will get ranked.

Yes, root for the gators next week if you want to get ranked.

no rooting involved... UT should get clobbered the way the defense has been playing
