From what I've read/heard is that Beckham is going to bring in a million dollars for each team ($11,000,000) other than LA. That's ticket sales, parking, concessions, et al.

A huge influx of money into this league will be great. Can expand club academies, soccer stadiums, and hopefully a club here to Tampa. :D

Beckham got me back into soccer! I watch a game every other day or so on Fox Soccer Channel. In fact, I have the Columbus at Dallas on right now, actually a pretty good game.

Tampa won't be on the list...

Seattle is front runner, especially after the Seattle Sounders (USL - MLS's minor leagues) killed Colorado Rapids (MLS) 5-0 the other day.

Also being concidered: Portland; Vancouver, BC; San Diego; ATL...to name a few.

San Jose is next with St. Louis following in 2009 (STL is not official though they are building new facilities to get an edge - STSU....

True... But he's a big star and people want to see him. Putting butts in seats may be just as important as putting balls in nets at this point for MLS. If they reap money in from a aging star who isn't one of the top 50 players in the world it might mean in the future they can bring in some top 50 players. He's an investment that will have a rate of return just like all investments. Hopefully, this year he can lead the team to a few more wins and next year they can add to the team and do better.

The MLS is not the NASL. They have a strong business plan and an infrastructure that is centered around developing young American talent. Neither of which the NASL had.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
