Did you ever think perhaps they  do not know their colors?  I teach first grade and most of the time my students come knowing them but there are always those who just cannot learn.  Not BULLS though! ::);) ;D :o

The helmet colors don't bother me, but the "All Time Division 1-A College Football Standings"  website (the best!) has picked up black and gold as our colors.  I've emailed them but got no response.  Someone else want to inform them also?

I might add that last year they had the correct colors.

Now now... in defense of Shoop, my dad worked for the Brown Truck company at one point as well, and the fashionistas at that place are merciless in their criticism.  If you show up with pants that are colored Mocha instead of Chocolate, they ride your ass for days.

Hey, at least it's not a gold iconic U on a gold helmet.  :)

Shoop are you serious? You have issues.

No doubt, he is a little to caught up with the fashion side of this, and must realize that most of us just don't see this to be a big deal or really care for that matter since it's absolutely to subtle to differentiate.

I love his enthusiasm, but getting caught up in this mundane of topics becomes a bit farce at some point.

Didn't they throw in the black so the logo would stand out more from far away? That was my understanding of it all

I believe this is the reason. The black on the helmets is supposed to stand out better on T.V. It's all about marketing.

black and gold are ftu/ou/oc colors and usf needs to separate themselves in the public eye.

usf should never abandon their green and there should always be green somewhere on the helmet
