Got to admit that neither of those hires, Kelsey or Byington, would really excite if I was a fan of either of those programs, especially L'ville ..... guess there were pretty slim pickins' out there after Dusty.

Kelsey has had a very strong 12 year run at Winthrop and now Charleston.   On the surface should be considered a good hire

Yeah, guess I got caught up looking at the 0 post season wins but when plucking from down there that's probably not as important as winning consistently at the level you're at ..... and he certainly did.

We had great years for football and men's basketball,  women's volleyball improved, and we want to keep Jose.

This would be a good time for extensions and raises for multiple of our coaches.

I am sure it will be happening soon.

Extensions after year 1 for MBB? Isn't he under contract for multiple years still?

Yes but they can always update the contract and make the buyout even higher if all agree.
