I say only 1 AQ per conference then have more at large bids which makes things much more exciting for the regular season imo. With that said I like it better than the 4 team playoff format. If 3 teams are getting in, just kill the conference championship game.

Maintains the advantage for the blue bloods and goes against the idea that actual performance is rewarded. Stacks the deck.

Shame. As coach Alex Golesh said: "Putting 3 teams from your conference as AQ's for the playoffs is for losers. That's what losers say. Winners win." - not Alex Golesh -hm101 Edited February 29 by hm101

I'm surprised the top teams don't want one more game where the school can host and make another $5 million. 3-3-2-2-2, 4 at large. Done.
John Lewis Posted February 29 Group: Member Topic Count: 18 Content Count: 2,896 Reputation: 2,327 Days Won: 33 Joined: 09/25/2013 Share Posted February 29 Terrible format in my opinion. Didn't the ACC and Big XII not have 2 teams that would have qualified for a 14 team playoff this past season?

It's clear it's not about the betterment of the sport or giving new brands a chance to shine or hard working student athletes a chance to compete. it's about... how can we get a 9-3 UNC team in there for the eyeballs over 11-1 NIU/App State/Memphis/USF etc. We're living in constant frustration and futility and it takes the fun out of it. I'd rather play Memphis for a REAL National Championship at whatever level you want to call it. God bless the C.'s, and Marylands, etc of the world. They are getting paid but they're getting paid to get beat up on by bigger richer kids and that's not the life I want.
Bull Matrix Posted February 29 Group: Member Topic Count: 601 Content Count: 16,344 Reputation: 2,879 Days Won: 43 Joined: 01/04/2003 Share Posted February 29 So basically we will see some down years for both SEC & big ten but they still get rewarded with 3 playoff teams. That it just terrible all around. Hopefully SEC & Big ten break up into 3 different conferences each. Only one AQ in per conference. This format as it stands now should be sued imo
