USF has to not only get in the ncaat but win multiple games to exceed 2012 IMO.

And SMU won ... but dropped five spots.

that 2012 team was better imo. They had much more impressive wins. Including a real good Louisville team.

I wonder, how good would an “all-time” USF team be? Like, if we had the best all around time cobbled together over our history, would they make a deep run in NCAAT?

The people who matter at the NCAA never said this. Some guy on X said this. Also, Joe Lunardi isn't the NCAA tournament committee who decides either. Don't get yourself all up in a tizzy over talking heads, it's all opinions and speculation.

The problem is that, as far as I know, none of the experts are saying we are likely to get an at-large. Also, you really think the selection committee will have that much of a different opinion than the experts? They are all looking at the same metrics. Unless USF can move into the top-60s in NET it’s not looking good for an at-large.

I haven't heard a lot of the "experts" but the ones I have, all they mention is the metrics. You wouldn't need a Committee if that was the end-all. FSU would have been in the CFP going strictly by the numbers. There have been precedents set for teams where we are NET wise making it. Doesn't mean we will but I don't think an at-large bid is as long a shot as it once was ...

This would be a good topic to debate in a separate thread.

That would work, but this is just a comparison of 2 teams.

Hard to argue with the 2011 - 2012 team, but this team would certainly match up well with them.

Plus, if they were to play each other, someone on TBP could post, "USF will destroy us!". 😎

One thing the 2 teams will have in common, if this one makes the NCAAT, is 2 very special true freshman point guards .... with one obviously playing a more integral part, though.
