Win your conference championship, you go to the NCAA tournament. Easy. Not win your conference, leave it up to the committee and some computer rankings that at least have a formula to them to help determine the better teams. You have 68 teams making it to the NCAAT; and every conference champion no matter how bad the conference is gets an automatic spot. Compare this to football where it has been the top 4 teams and now to still only 12 teams.
