Why not play another year, get paid while doing it, and continue to further his education? Probably make more in NIL money than a 1st yr job. Wouldn't take much.

Covid protocols gave an additional year of eligibility on top of the existing redshirt and medical redshirt rules that can normally get up to 6 years.

If these guys have NFL aspirations, then playtime > slightly more NIL (temporary). I think the portal nets a positive result for teams like USF (if we do our job in securing players). It makes players who should be starting somewhere, but are riding the bench behind other 5* players at a place like Alabama seek out a new place where they can be the star.

Guys on Cover 3 Podcast were talking transfers and talked about Byrum going to NC State and saying Jacurri Brown would be a good fit for USF if that happened.
