Matt Baker has made it a point to mention on twitter before that he doesn't root for USF, just reports on them. Any inside scoops should be leaked to Charley Belcher for local reporting. This is the attitude that should be pushed in the local media for non-alum locals.

Matt's bosses are the ones to blame.  They just don't care about USF thus you get Matt.

Great to see that. 

Most local media are for their sports teams, Matt somehow feels that covering USF puts him in the Yale of journalistic situations and he is above that. You can both support your local team AND cover them fairly at the same time. Source: the rest of the country.

Charley Belcher is not a reporter.  He does a great morning show -- but that is all he does.

If you "leak info" to him, he will just pass it on to the sports folks at WTVT.  He won't do a report about USF from the business he's visiting for the day.

I really wouldn’t totally call Matt a reporter either. He sure does give a lot of opinions.

Funny how and intern, yes intern, could write a story which included just the facts, without the above irritants and she did not cheerlead.  Her name is Charlotte Varnes.  Probably not long for the times, too businesslike.

Seems even for the "reporters" shunning events and turning the knife is considered unbiased, right?
