This is really random, but for anyone like me who loves to add more sports to my USF road trips (and you are driving the Western Kentucky trip).

Going North, on Friday night in Atlanta, Louisville vs. Ga Tech in Mercedes Benz Stadium/Dome (whichever it is called, where the Falcons play).

Heading South, on Sunday, at 4 PM central, the Birmingham Barons have a AA baseball game. (Nashville, Bowling Green, Huntsville, Rome, Gwinnett, and the Braves are all on the road)

And they had a phantom touchdown and a NFL bound QB. I do know they can tackle. I hope we do.

Did we improve our tackling and coverage techniques? We had a lot of defensive backs that were burnt toast out there often and yet we are still running a scheme that puts out 5 defensive backs out there ever play.

One can only hope. No way our defense can be worse than last year.

I was last there in 1997.  I hope we look better than those ragtag inaugural season superheroes.  It has been 26 years.  We should do better than 31-3.  Of course we did, in 1998 at home....

Never say never. We were sold that Charlie Strong was the worst coach at USF ever and  any coach would be an improvement. He looked like a shining star compared to one FBS win Jeff Scott .  Strong accomplished more in the year he got fired for then Jeff Scott accomplished in 3 years yet was worth extending in the eyes of our AD . If USF football has taught be anything since the Leavitt firing is expect the worse case scenario at all times.

It's a neat stadium.  Cheap concessions.  I see the Bucs when they come every year.  I prefer the open air stadiums like Raymond James, but it would be a comfortable detour.

Contemplating driving over from Hickory.  I know it's not far from Cave City, so I'll have someplace to stay.

I made the trip up there in 2009. Mammoth Cave is definitely a site to behold. I would highly recommend fitting this natural wonder in if you have the time. The tour was awesome!
