Maybe they're focusing on Mark Madsen at Utah Valley State. He has an impressive pedigree. Would he want to relocate to Tampa after spending most of his life on the Left Coast?

You'd have to support an alum, but if there wasn't a USF connection, would ANYONE not want to get the pitchforks out with that type of hire? Cups of coffee as an assistant at FIU, Stetson and Georgia Southern - and the last six years as an assistant in California? That's your new head coach?  The first job for a guy with that resume is at Stetson or Cal Poly or Marist NOT at South Florida.

Speaking of recruits, I know we don't have a beat writer, but I'm a little surprised we haven't heard of any portal action with the current roster or our three early signees jumping ship. Fully expected it earlier, but has to be more likely every day that there isn't a new hire.

FWIW, he's been the Assistant Head Coach at USC for a couple of years ...

Chris Capko was promoted to Associate Head Coach for the USC men’s basketball program by head coach Andy Enfield on Aug. 30, 2021, after serving as an assistant coach since April 22, 2016.
