The most important thing is that it has more uses than just football. Concerts and other events must be brought in. This is why making sure that roof and other amenities are available are more important than size. With most people being able to watch games from home, why would you spend money to be uncomfortable in the sun/ heat of Florida, pay for overpriced bad food and drinks and if you live outside of Tampa, travel costs. And then to top that off see a bad product that leaves you upset at the end. So a 35k stadium with nice amenities, roof, multiple uses and create a winning team are the important parts.

You have a large protion of kids that are the pro LGBT and BLM group that think football is toxic mascalinity . (you also have so many kids that would rathe play video games all day). You still have a core (mostly in the blue blood south schools) of kids that do love colege football and are more conservative then people think, Hence the F Joe Biden chants recently. That's a doozy there buddy

Might be a bit out of our range currently until we have some stronger demand for club access in our OCS. ClubCorp, which rebranded to Invited Clubs, manages a network of 200+ clubs across the country, including multiple golf clubs and a social club space on Kennedy near the airport. They also run a few stadium clubs in college football stadiums across the country. I wonder how many USF alumni would be interested in a club membership that spans golf courses AND our OCS? We have a younger and less developed alumni base when compared to most all of the schools they currently operate in, but it may be worth a look. @John Lewis, has this been mentioned at all for potential within the OCS? Has Invited been approached to scope interest? Full membership to XYZ golf club. Reciprocal benefits at multiple other courses in the area. Business club near the airport for work. Club lounge in the stadium. Find Invited Clubs Around Tampa | invitedclubs.com Discover the exceptional benefits of membership at ClubCorp. Our clubs have best-in-class golfing, tennis, fitness, dining, and event facilities. Stadium Clubs | invitedclubs.com Discover the exceptional benefits of membership at ClubCorp. Very interesting concept.

One would think winning an a new OCS stadium should help some. The question will be whether the long-term benefit of the facility to the overall University community will be worth the investment. I suspect the answers to that question will be almost as diverse depending on one's perspective. They absolutely will. Good thing for me is that I'm pretty sure I'll be long gone when the long term benefits of the ocs will be measured so I can just enjoy the short term benefits. I agree that multi-use is very important. The more time the students and community can spend in the stadium, outside of football, the more it is integrated into the USF community/culture rather than JUST a football stadium. Detroit residents were willing to spend more money on renovating old Tiger Stadium and refused to get rid of it for so long because it was the site of so many community events that meant a lot to the residents throughout its 100 year history. Our OCS could be similar over time. Edited May 2, 2023 by michibull

I don’t care how good the clubs are at FSU & UF. They have old POS OCS’s. 2
