Why couldn’t we be the Gonzaga of women’s softball with our head coach being the visible leader of the US national team? Seems that should bring some extra recruiting juice with it.

So what do you want to do?  Fire the guy because he can't get the WNT to come to USF?  Maybe he's that good of a coach that he can win consistently at a mid-major .. or we can fire him and see if we can do better .. worked real well with CJL ... 🙄

Nope, not asking for his firing at all - just wondering out loud why we’re no better than the 4th/5th best team in the state with the head coach of the US team on the bench?

That old saying - It's not the X's and O's in the Wanda's and Shirley's.

Maybe we're "the 4th/5th best team in the state" because we have the head coach of the US team on the bench ...

Maybe we're the 4th/5th best team in the state because we have THIS head coach of the US team on the bench.

So your hypothesis is that 4th/5th best in the state is the best we could ever possibly be?

No, my hypothesis is that it is dumb to keep complaining about one of the most successful coaches in our history because he hasn't won a national title at our mid-major school.

Then fire him ... let's see if it works out THIS time

Dude, this is what message boards are for, right? And I don’t believe anyone wants him fired. But we are pointing out - legitimately, I think - that he’s never put together a lineup with enough punch to get anything really serious done. Sarah Nevins and Georgina Corrick alone provided almost a decade of 2-1 wins for us. He’s clearly looking for the next Corrick now since we have ANOTHER offensively challenged bunch that’s, so far, hitting .180 as a team. Is it really that unrealistic to think that the guy who’s the coach of Team USA and the visibility that brings in the softball community couldn’t consistently recruit a half dozen players to build an offensive roster around? No, NOBODY WANTS HIM FIRED. But it does seem that maybe there could have been more than one regional victory in 26 years from a guy who’s led the US women’s national team since 2011.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
