I’m curious if they stay with turf in that few years. The Detroit Lions are getting a lot of flak right now over their turf and player injuries in general around the NFL for turf injuries. If the NFLPA demands changes or levies complaints about turf, could that effect outdoor NCAA stadiums with turf fields? Most likely wishful thinking, but hey, I can hope, haha.

You would think a team named the Bulls would take **** Allen's words to heart:

This is gross for baseball, especially the no clay. I have to admit if I was a recruit I would choose not to go to USF and have to play half my games on that.

Vanderbilt's field is 100% turf, including the mound and batter's box. Would you turn them down?

Difference is we don’t have nearly the baseball pedigree. I guess my dislike just comes from being tired watching games at the trop and hearing about them having to rest players from time to time to get them off their feet because of playing on turf so much. I just prefer grass fields in all sports.

Didn't stop him from taking mediocre money to unretire and play for the Phillies on one of the worst turf fields ever created.

100%. But, turf these days is fine. It gives a true hop and it's low maintenance.

My overall beef is twofold. 1) A turf batter's box isn't too common, but, most cages are turf these days so it isn't weird hitting on it. So, while I prefer clay, I'm reasonably ok with turf in the box. However! 2) Throwing from a turf mound is absolute ******* insane. How in the world can that be ok when 90% of college baseball has a clay mound and when some team comes in they have to throw off some rubber bump? That is the most bonkers home field advantage ever to have a turf mound that pretty much everyone who comes to town has almost no experience with in a game setting.

What plans have been released to show this?

I just had an epiphany. The state declared no fertilizers from April thru November I believe to help curb red tide. Do y’all think it’s the reason?

Possibly.  I noticed how rough the infield looked last season in March, and at that point the season had barely started.
