It’s optics at this point. Would look like Mike is a fool for extension and a short hook. It’s inevitable.

Wouldn't be the first time.

Chaplin, Hines, Patrick, Boggs, Moss, Walker, Tchewa are exactly the same guys they were on a 20-loss team a year ago. None are capable of making a play that makes a difference when it matters.

Jake Boggs rebounds, he goes coast to coast and blows the layup. That leads to a fastbreak the other way that ends with a layup and a foul - three-point play. Instead of being up four, we're down one. A FIVE-POINT swing in a few seconds.

Two thoughts I shared while watching.

To the latter, you can add the Miguel three attempt clanging off the rim at a time towards the end where it was the last shot we needed to take

Not very scientific, but it seems that other teams go on "runs" where they score unanswered points for 8+ minutes, and we never do.  Those are difficult to overcome.

Yeah it's nice to be able to break the flow and score a bucket to break up the pace.

Maybe we specialize in droughts?  We failed to score in the final 3:52...and of course the 8:43 drought that put us down 20+ early in first half.

I can’t watch them anymore but to go on those two scoring droughts is absolutely incredulous and the main reason I don’t follow them. How do you not score in close to 9 minutes against Peay.  This is not only the worst stretch we have ever had in our two majors but it would be hard to find a more incompetent couple at any school now or ever.  This is where we cue in Trips to provide that silver lining to this **** show and explain how things are not that bad.

Okay, you don't have to make it about a person, here.  You know that.

TBF that's been a thing with the MBB program for a long time. Save for the 2012 tourney run and the CBI championship year (and even at times those years), there always seems to be a stretch in every game where the team could either pull away or come back in a game and instead go on a 3-, 4-, 8-minute long drought. It's gotta be something with the building

I think it's probably been since DoJo that we had a player whose hands we could put the ball in and have a positive expected outcome.  Maybe I'm wrong...

Was seeking an alternative viewpoint that would provide a unique perspective unlike the groupthink discussion we are having.  Furthermore we are boys giving each other a little tit for tat but understood and would assume he has blocked me anyways, point taken.
